Fail2ban service description
Protect access to RMON
Fail2ban is an optional host administration tool for limiting repeated failed sign-in attempts. It complements HTTPS, appropriate network access and individual user accounts.
Configure the host
Your host administrator must select the actual authentication log, matching filter, trusted administrator addresses and suitable ban policy. Verify that a test failure is detected and that the administrator retains access.
Native and Docker installations
Use the controls supported by your native installation where available. For Docker, configure host-level protection against the logs and source addresses visible on that host or its reverse proxy. Starting the RMON containers does not automatically configure the host firewall or Fail2ban.
See logs and access security.
